I'm loving the extra creating time I have at the moment!

This is my first ever case file over at CSI.

Scrap the Boys December 2013 challenge

I'm back again with a page for the Scrap the Boys December challenge...which is to create a layout based on this theme
The first thing I thought of when I saw this theme was a photo of my son when he was two years old. It took me a while to find it and the photo reminded me of how wonderful this time of year is when you have young children :) All Jake wanted this Christmas was a stamp set! When we went to see Santa he sat on his knee and when asked he told Santa he wanted a stamp set! Santa looked at me shocked and then said "I think we can arrange that". When we were leaving Santa whispered to me "they usually want so much more"! Which I certainly found out in the years that followed!!

I have used Fancy Pants paper along with older bits and pieces from my stash!

And a close up!
I love these silver thickers :)

I made a flip up section to hold some journaling.

It's great to use up older stuff...everything with the exception of the paper, alphas and Prima badge has been in my stash for over a year. I am really trying to use things I already have instead of just adding to the stash!
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great day.

White with 1 December 2013 challenge

Hello again,
I am really enjoying having some extra time to create now the holidays are here...
It's been so long since I have entered any challenges so I thought I would really try to complete some for my favourite sites this month.
This page is for White with 1...and the challenge is to use white (of course) with banana!
Pretty cool combo for summer hey!

Well I'm not the best at editing my photos (I obviously have a lot to learn, lol) and the colours don't appear as yellow here as they really are! I had so much fun adding layers to this page and adding extra dimension with plasterers mesh, bandages and machine stitching!
This photo shows the colours true to life...
I loved this old windmill we came across when driving along the WA coastline at Esperance in July. We also visited the wind farm that day...what an amazing site and sound they are!
That's all for today...thanks for taking a look!

Kraft it Up December 2013 Challenge

Hi there,
I am on holidays so am making the most of it by getting creative!
This layout is for the December challenge at Kraft it Up.

This month your challenge is to create a layout, "Christmas Themed" using one of the following non traditional colour schemes...

I have used Fancy Pants paper along with some bits and pieces from a few of my A Piece of Cake Designs kits. I have also added a few older items from my stash....love getting out the older stuff to mix in with the latest goodies. I chose to go with the aqua/kraft/white/silver combo although I added a few little bits of red to suit the photo!

And a few close ups of the details...

I had so much fun adding little bits and pieces here and there!
Love this photo of my great niece and nephews...oh that makes me sound old!!
Thanks for stopping by...

The one where I finally have some layouts to share...

Hi there,
I know I can hardly believe it myself...I have been scrapbooking :)
So I finally have a few layouts to share!
I spent last weekend with a wonderful bunch of friends and it was so good to scrap again...I was feeling very disengaged from crafting and this was just what I needed to get into the groove again!

This page is from a fun game we played...we had two minutes to choose one item to place on the page and then had to pass it on to the next person. I started off by adding the roller doodle stamp and when it returned to me all I added was the photo, alphas and some wood veneer, journaling and doodling.

These were the other pages I either completed or just had to finish off at home...
(sshh...there was a little bit of scrap lifting going on here as my mojo was on holiday).

I also worked on my classes from the Heidi Swapp Down Under event but still need to add photos and embellies to those.

The December challenge is up at ScrapBoutique and I just loved the sketch for this one...

And my page using some Studio Calico and Amy Tan papers...
I have used my new Studio Calico word stamp...it is huge and was perfect for this sketch!

Hope to see you over at ScrapBoutique for the challenge this month!

And lastly I have my page for the Heidi Swapp After Class Challenge...
I have played with goodies from the Mixed Company range! These are so easy to work with...the colours and patterns are beautiful and just work so well together.
I created a layout with a flip up page to hold additional photos and embellishments....I chose mostly items in the mint green and peach colours from the range and have only added the cardstock, enamel dots and seam binding...all other items are left over from the fabulous kit!

Thanks for stopping by!

Scrap the Girls December challenge!

I have just returned from an amazing weekend get-together with the greatest group of talented, creative and super fun ladies! I had the best time and didn't want it to end!!
Oh well back to reality and work today, lol.

I can't  believe it is December already and time again for a challenge at Scrap the Girls!
This months criteria is to use multiple photos and I have scrapped my cute little niece Chloe celebrating her 8th birthday...

This close up shows the card stock circles I cut with my Silhouette Cameo :)

A few weeks ago I was lucky to attend the Heidi Swapp Down Under event in Brisbane with some wonderful ladies! It was a super fun day and I was so happy to meet the gorgeous Heidi and Kim Jeffress...they were both so generous sharing their talent and life experiences with everyone!

This is a collage of Heidi's showing memories from the day...those pretty bits with the
Make pretty Stuff logo are mine (insert squeal here) hehe. The day was fast paced but I enjoyed every moment and loved all the goodies we got to take home...

Thanks for stopping by. I hope to see you over at Scrap the Girls for the challenge!!

October 2013 Scrap the Girls

Hi there
Well a new month has rolled around and that means a new challenge at Scrap the Girls
And the challenge is to use the following:

And this is my page using the fabulous new Prima range Delight.

I started by collaging strips of paper to the background sheet adding texture paste with my hexagon mask, gesso, stamping and flicking a few shades of twinkling h2o's onto the page with a paintbrush. I have reused the packaging from the tags as it was just to pretty to waste and fit the rectangle criteria perfectly. I then added several of the tags...the designs on these are oh so pretty and the say it with crystals circles...I have been hoarding these but I loved them so much I used the whole pack, lol. Finally I added the squiggly chipboard heart!

So I hope you like the challenge and can join us this month!!
You can check out all the layouts from the awesome creative team by clicking on the link above.
Hope to see you there :)

ScrapBoutique September 2013 Challenge

Far out!
It's been a long time between scrap sessions here... and now that the school holidays are here I hope to put a bit of a dint in my stash :)
The lovely ScrapBoutique stylist Karen posted a great challenge this month to scrap about a trip away...my favourite colour too!

Karen's inspiration was her trip to see P!NK and I went a few days later so just had to scrap about my trip to Brisbane! I was so excited to get tickets and the show certainly didn't disappoint!! It was the last night of the tour and P!NK's birthday...so an extra special experience for us :)

Karen's challenge was to use the picture as inspiration and include these four items...
white cardstock

I started by embossing my background using a Crafters Workshop template and clear embossing powder. I added lots of stamping using my latest favourite stamp by Bo Bunny.

I then scraped gesso on randomly using an old credit card. I love the texture this creates...reminds me of the cream on the cake, hehe :)

And I have finally cut into my stash of Maggie Holmes papers and washi...just love this range and I am eagerly awaiting the upcoming release of Flea Market.

You still have a few days to get your entry in so why not stop by the forum and join in this fun challenge :)

Class kit pages and some other scrappy shares

Hi there
I recently bought the Paper Stories class kit by Georgia Heald and last weekend I had some creative time! It's been a while since I have just been able to sit down and create and I found once I started I couldn't stop, lol.
I loved all the different techniques in this class, lots of paper collage, gesso and flicking paint here and there. The collection used is by Dear Lizzy.
This is my favourite so I have framed it in a Prima frame ready to hang on the wall :)

Love Georgia's style and it is so much fun flicking paint and mist around the page!

There is also lots of stamping adding texture to the layers.

And the second page from the kit!

This one used lots of gesso and once again stamping to create texture.

I love the look of the flicks of gesso...I had never actually tried this before....not sure why not as it is a great effect.

I had leftover paper strips and gesso so I decided to create an extra page by adding a piece of Basic Grey paper from my stash. This photo was taken on our recent holiday to WA.

There was also enough paper and stickers left for a quick card, lol

I also completed a few just because pages...
I had a play with gelatos on this one

And using lots of Prima paper layers here...

The glassine envelope holds journaling and extra photos of our sightseeing trip around Esperance.

Thanks for making it this far!
I hope you like what I have created and don't forget to stop by Scrap The Girls to join in the August challenge :)

Scrap The Girls August Challenge

Hi there

I have some exciting news to share with you today! I have joined the creative team at
As you may know I have had a break from the scrappy world due to lots of work and study commitments this year but I am now ready to jump back into it. Just because I wasn't scrapping doesn't mean I wasn't adding to my stash, so I now have heaps of goodies to cut into before all the new CHA stuff is released! I'm loving Crate Paper, Webster's Pages, October Afternoon, MME, Studio Calico and of course Prima...it's never ending temptation for this addict! lol
Anyway  I was so happy when I found out I would be joining the STG team! I love a good challenge and I hope I can inspire you in some way and you will play along with us :)

The August challenge is:

All entries must use

doodling and
chipboard or wood veneers

I have used October Afternoon Travel Girl papers and stickers!
I just love OA label stickers...they are fabulous for both layering and journaling.
My masking with the new Heidi Swapp confetti stencil was done using impasto with a touch of gold paint mixed in! I then doodled around some of the shapes. The flower and leaves are from Prima and I have added a wood veneer arrow, camera and geotag!

I used a Kaisercraft stamp for some background interest.

Hope you can pop over to Scrap The Girls and check out all the fabulous inspiration from the team!
